Introduction

Hakeem Health Technologies ("Hakeem", "we", "us") operates a pediatric telehealth platform connecting parents across the Gulf region with licensed pediatricians — physicians who hold a medical degree from an accredited faculty of medicine and years of clinical experience — built and operated from Egypt. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from parents, doctors, and administrators who use our platform, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By creating an account or otherwise using Hakeem, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

Information We Collect

Account information: your email address, hashed password, phone number, and account role (parent, doctor, or admin).

Profile information: for doctors, professional details such as name, title, bio, qualifications, specialty, years of experience, and profile photo. For parents, your name and contact details.

Child health information: when a parent adds a child profile, we collect the child's name, date of birth, gender, weight, allergies, and chronic conditions. Treating doctors add consultation notes and prescriptions to that profile, and parents may upload lab results, X-rays, or other supporting files. This information is only ever visible to the child's parent and the doctor(s) they book with — never to other patients or doctors.

Booking and payment information: appointment times, consultation fees, and payment status. Card details themselves are handled directly by our payment processor and are never stored on our servers.

Technical information: device, browser, and IP address information, collected for security, fraud prevention, and to keep the platform working reliably.

Google Account Information

When a doctor chooses to connect their Google Calendar to Hakeem, we request permission to create calendar events (the calendar.events scope) solely to schedule the virtual consultation and generate a Google Meet video link for that specific appointment. We do not read, browse, or store any of the doctor's other existing calendar events, and this data is never shared with third parties or used for advertising.

Hakeem's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

A doctor may disconnect their Google Calendar at any time from their profile settings; appointments will then fall back to a standard video-call link instead of a native Google Meet room.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: provide and facilitate virtual consultations between parents and doctors; generate meeting links and calendar invitations for scheduled appointments; verify doctors' professional qualifications before they appear in the public directory; send appointment confirmations and reminders; process payments for consultations; maintain the security and integrity of the platform; and comply with applicable legal obligations.

How We Share Your Information

A child's clinical history is only ever shared with that child's parent and the doctor(s) they book a consultation with. We share limited information with trusted service providers strictly to operate the platform: our payment processor (to process consultation fees), Google (to create calendar events and Meet links when a doctor connects their calendar), and our hosting provider (to store data securely). We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising purposes.

Data Storage & Security

Passwords are never stored in plain text — they are hashed before being saved. Uploaded medical files (lab results, X-rays, prescriptions) are stored on access-restricted servers and are only ever served through the platform to authorized viewers. While we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain account and clinical information for as long as your account remains active, or as needed to comply with applicable medical record-keeping and legal obligations. Parents may request deletion of a child's profile at any time; consultation notes and prescriptions already written by a doctor form part of that child's medical record and may be retained where required by law, even after a profile is otherwise deleted.

Children's Data

Hakeem's patients are children, but every account on our platform is created and controlled exclusively by an adult parent or legal guardian. Children do not create their own accounts, log in, or interact with the platform directly. All information about a child is entered, viewed, and managed by that child's parent, under the parent's consent and responsibility.

Your Rights

You may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us. Where clinical entries have been authored by a doctor as part of a child's medical record, deletion may be limited by applicable healthcare record-keeping requirements. You may also withdraw previously granted permissions, such as a doctor's Google Calendar connection, from your profile settings.

Cookies & Local Storage

We use local storage in your browser to remember your language preference (English/Arabic) and to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the platform.
